'The support level has been unmatched. OLAs, student advisors, anyone you contact is always there for you. I have never felt alone. There is always someone to reach out to, always someone to help, always someone you can lean on. I never felt alienated by my peers or teachers. Further, the online flexibility has been a game changer for me. I have no idea where I would be without the ability to study when and how I need to. I have taken my work interstate, overseas, anywhere you can think of. My current job requires at minimum a undergraduate degree, and I wouldn't be here without it. Additional opportunities have also presented themselves as a direct cause of this, which has been amazing.'

'I decided to study online in 2012 when my youngest twins were in Year 12 . I thought it was time for me to pursue a degree after bringing up five children and was a single working mum for eight years at that time. During my studies, I had to defer 2-3 times as my home life was getting very hectic. I believe that education is very important and I have instilled this to my children who are enjoying the benefits of having good education with excellent careers. I am very happy and proud to obtain my degree. My goal is to use my knowledge in management accounting and may use it as means to work from home.'

Meet Alice, a Media and Communications Graduate

Before Alice began her online study journey, she felt like she wasn’t going anywhere in her career and decided it was time for her to return to study.

It was a challenging time, but one that Alice was determined to see as an opportunity, ultimately deciding to invest her time in studying with Swinburne Online. With the flexibility to study while she continued to work, Alice was able to open numerous doors to future career opportunities.

Meet Madeline, a Diploma of Business Graduate

By taking an opportunity offered with Swinburne Online, Madeline studied with the support of her employers to enhance both her leadership and business skillset. Having not completed formal studies in business prior to this role, she found it was essential for her career development.

After completing her Diploma of Business, she successfully landed a promotion from Store Manager to Program Manager in the Training team at Lululemon.

Meet Paul, a Master of (Primary) Teaching Graduate

After working in the financial services industry for 20 years, Paul decided to change the path of his career and began to work towards a future in education.

Since graduating and obtaining his teachers’ registration, Paul has commenced work as a casual relief teacher and is “absolutely loving life.” His goal for the future is to gain a full-time teaching role in a Victorian primary school.
