Swinburne Online celebrates three years

In July, Swinburne Online celebrated three years of leading the Australian online education sector in delivering high quality, accredited, university qualifications online.

Since its inception, Swinburne Online has educated more than 5,000 students, seen its first group of online students graduate, introduced a new design course to its offering of now 18 different degrees and received an Aon Hewitt Best Employer award.

CEO of Swinburne Online, Denice Pitt, said Swinburne Online’s experience has been one of growth, innovation and development within the emerging online education space.

“Central to everything we do is an expectation that we will make an impactful and meaningful contribution to education and the lives of students.

“Swinburne Online has been able to reach more people nationally by offering students high quality, accredited, diverse and recognised degree programs online.

“Our new model of learning responds to the needs of a new group of students looking to enhance their future and careers and learn on their schedule.

“Our growth, graduates and current demand reflect our success in the emerging online education sector.”

Swinburne Online provides more than 5,000 students across Australia access to tertiary studies. These students come from a diverse range of backgrounds – one in four live in regional and rural locations and three quarters are studying part time.

Students are supported through their online journey with seven-day support, on-demand assignment assistance and teaching staff that consistently score highly in student satisfaction ratings.

Swinburne Online has been able to leverage existing technologies to make the learning experience more interactive and collaborative so students are able to engage with learning material, teachers and peers in their own time.
